DESCRIPTION
European companies operating in the aerospace, electronic or automotive sectors are facing increasing regulatory pressures to adopt a Life Cycle Thinking perspective to improve their environmental performance The CORINE project provided European SMEs in the helicopter industry with an innovative tool for the eco-design of helicopter parts, which act as a regulatory database and a tool to facilitate the identification of “greener” substitution materials and processes. More in detail, the project developed a Product Oriented Environmental Management System (POEMS) as an appropriate methodology for specific products and manufacturing processes involved in the helicopter industry.
HOW WE CONTRIBUTE
- - Environmental Life Cycle Assessment activities on specific manufacturing processes
- - Supporting the development of the eco-design methodology and customized tool
- - Company seminars on LCA and eco-design
