DESCRIPTION


Project’s aim
The aim of the CO2Fokus project is to develop an innovative way to produce dimethyl ether (DME) using CO2 as a raw material. DME, which can be used as a clean energy source, is nowadays created from fossil fuels through indirect conversion processes.
The use of CO2 would allow both to avoid the emission of this gas in the atmosphere, giving then a contribute to the tackle of climate change, and to limit the dependence from fossil fuels.
By building on these encouraging results, CO2Fokus aims to make decisive progress towards the efficient use of waste CO2 from industrial processes as feedstock for the process industry and facilitate the commercial development of CO2 utilisation systems for direct DME production.
